Why we tell you the actual volume

A "full truck" means something different at every company, and almost nobody says what. A one ton truck holds around 105 to 140 cubic feet. Other trucks hold four times that. If you are comparing quotes, ask each company how many cubic feet their load size is. It is the only way the numbers mean anything, and it is why ours are printed above.

Adding a second item to the same visit costs far less than a second trip. The form works it out as you go.

Every surcharge we have. There are no others.

  • Access: above the second floor with no elevator, 40 dollars. More than 15 metres of carry from where the truck can park, 30 dollars
  • Per item, inside a larger load, because each one carries its own disposal fee: mattress 40, box spring 40, crib mattress 15, fridge or freezer 45, washer or dryer 25, television 25, tire 20 (40 oversized), dried paint can 5
  • By weight: drywall, concrete, soil, brick, tile, roofing and construction debris. We send you an estimated range from your photos, and the scale sets the real price inside that range on the day of the job
  • Not accepted at any price: liquid paint, chemicals, solvents, propane. Here is where those go, free
  • Worth knowing about tires: in BC you can drop off up to four off rim tires free at participating retailers, and Calgary Eco Centres take up to twelve a day including rims. We will take them inside a load at 20 dollars each because they cost us to handle, but if that is all you have, the free option is genuinely easier. Locations here

Why a mattress is 149 on its own but 40 inside a load: the 149 covers the whole trip when the mattress is the only reason we are coming. If we are already there for a bigger load, you pay only the 40 that the mattress itself costs to handle and dispose of.

Single item? You get the price on the spot. Anything bigger, send two photos from the doorway. No measuring, no moving things outside, no letting people in just to get a quote.

Approve the price

Your quote comes back within 2 hours during business hours (after 4pm, expect it by 10am the next day). Once it is in, you only have to approve it and book the service. A 40% deposit is charged then to hold your booking.

It is gone

The crew loads, sweeps up, and sends you before and after photos. The rest of the price you approved is only charged once you confirm the job is done.

Dried or solidified paint we can take. Liquid paint we cannot, because it is a regulated flammable liquid and transfer stations will not accept it.

If your building was built before 1990 and the job involves renovation debris, we will ask about the year. Material that may contain asbestos has to be handled by a contractor licensed by WorkSafeBC, and we do not have one in our network yet, so we cannot take that job right now. A licensed abatement contractor is the right call for that material.

Questions

Why do you need photos instead of just giving me a price?

Because volume does not tell us weight, and weight is most of the disposal cost. A full load of household furniture and a full load of soil take up the same space and cost very different amounts to dump. Guessing at that is how companies end up re-quoting on the doorstep. Taking photos takes you just a few minutes and lets us give you a clear price that both of us can commit to. Single items skip this entirely, because a mattress is a mattress.

Will the price change when the crew arrives?

For single items and cleanouts, we quote from your photos and that number holds. If at arrival the items are materially different from what your pictures showed, or if there is extra junk to remove, we would have to adjust accordingly and you would have to authorize the new price before loading anything. For heavy material, priced by weight, we send an estimated range and the scale sets the real number on the day the service is provided.

How fast do I get my quote?

Single items are priced instantly on this webpage. For any other service, we reply back within 2 hours during business hours, or by 10am the next day if you send photos after 4pm. Either way, nobody comes to your house to give you a number.

Do I have to move everything outside first?

No. We take it from wherever it is: the basement, the back bedroom, behind the shed. Carrying it out is the job. All you have to do is point.

Can I get same day service?

Usually yes if you book before noon, and often later than that. Availability is shown before you commit, so you are never guessing.

Are you open on Sundays?

Yes, and there is no weekend surcharge. Transfer stations in Metro Vancouver are open Saturday and Sunday, so Sunday works the same as any other day.

Do I need to be home?

No. Plenty of jobs run with garage access or a gate code. You get before and after photos either way.

What do I do with paint, chemicals and propane tanks?

They cannot legally ride in a junk truck, but almost all of them have a free drop off programme. In British Columbia, Product Care Recycling accepts leftover paint, aerosols, flammable liquids and pesticides at no charge. In Calgary, eleven City locations take paint, solvents, batteries, oil, antifreeze, pesticides and propane tanks free. Are you insured?

Yes. We carry commercial general liability coverage, and every crew we send carries their own commercial liability and commercial auto coverage. We will send you the certificate if you would like to see it.
